Security That Fits the Architecture
A high-security door does not have to look like a commercial safe or vault door. Embassy and Fortress doors can be customized with paint colors, stain-grade wood veneers, decorative panel designs, contemporary finishes and selected lever hardware. Interior and exterior configurations can be coordinated with nearby architectural doors, allowing the vault room door to blend into the room.
Mechanical or Electromechanical Access
Both series are available with a mechanical multi-point lock or the X1R electromechanical locking system. The X1R can automatically engage the locking bolts when the door closes and support entry with a high-security key, smartphone, keypad, fingerprint reader, RFID credential or a compatible access-control system. From inside the protected room, the interior handle retracts the locking system in one motion for straightforward operation.

Complete the Vault Room with Ballistic Wall Protection
Ballistic Fiberglass Wall Panels
A high-security door is only one part of a properly protected room. Conventional wood or metal framed walls may remain vulnerable even when the entrance is reinforced.
GSS Doors can also supply UL 752 Level 3 and Level 8 bullet-resistant fiberglass wall panels to help extend protection around the vault room.
Available options include:
- UL 752 Level 3 panels for handgun protection
- UL 752 Level 8 panels for higher-level rifle protection
- Ballistic batten strips for protecting panel seams
- Standard sheets or custom-cut panels
- Coordination with new or existing wall construction

Vault Room Door or Safe Room Door?
Vault room doors are typically selected for spaces protecting firearms, valuables, important records or private collections. Safe room and panic room doors place greater emphasis on occupant protection, controlled access and dependable operation from inside the protected space. Both applications can be configured around the appropriate forced-entry, locking and ballistic requirements.
Start Planning Your Security Vault Room Door
Every secure room has different requirements. The appropriate door depends on what the room will protect, the construction of the surrounding wall, the opening size, the desired level of forced-entry resistance and how authorized users will enter the space.
You do not need finalized drawings or exact specifications to begin. Provide the intended use, project zip code, approximate rough-opening dimensions and any preferences for the finish, locking system or ballistic protection. GSS Doors will review the information, help determine whether the Embassy FE/5 or Fortress FE/15 is the more appropriate starting point and identify the details needed for an accurate project-specific quote.
